               <description>Dr. Herman L. Totten, Dean, School of Library and Information Sciences, announced the appointment of Dr. William E.
Moen, Associate Professor, to a dual appointment as Director of the Texas Center for Digital
Knowledge TxCDK and Director of Research in the School of Library and Information Sciences. This appointment is effective September 1, 2007. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Dr. Moen has extensive experience with TxCDK, having served as its
Interim Director since 2004. During this time, TxCDK has successfully
brought together faculty and students from across the University to
promote and support research and academic programming. As Director, Dr.
Moen is charged with helping to fulfill Dr. Totten&amp;#39;s administrative goal to make
TxCDK self-sustaining as an internationally recognized research,

               <title>Figa and Chung Paper Accepted for the International Virtual Storytelling Conference 2005</title>

               <title>TxCDK Research Assistants 2005/2006</title>

These are 12-month RAs. TxCDK Fellows can submit a request (described below) for o&amp;shy;ne or more of the RAs. RAs will be awarded to TxCDK Fellows o&amp;shy;n a competitive basis.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The School of Library and Information Sciences (SLIS) is providing funding for these RAs.                <title>IMLS Grant Award to TxCDK Fellows Turner and Werchan</title>

               <description>University of North Texas, School of Library and Information Sciences - Denton, TX - $159,578&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The University of North Texas School of Library and Information Sciences, in collaboration with the Ysleta Independent School District and the El Paso Independent School District, will create, test, and revise Web-based courseware to be used by school librarians throughout the nation in o&amp;shy;nline continuing education for K-12 librarians and staff. This project will result in Web-based courseware o&amp;shy;n five continuing education topics chosen through a needs assessment process within a large and diverse public school system. It will be evaluated and revised based o&amp;shy;n outcomes assessments from a large user base.
